Here I am at the NPR Pumpkin Stroll, nice day! This is my first event that i setup bymyself and I did it in an hour! I thought it would take like 2 hours! ILm a big girl now! lol! come out and see me!

This will be the busiest season I have ever had! I look forward to seeing everyone at the shows and meeting new people too!

New Job

Later today I have a job interview at SPC Clearwater Campus for a Staff Assistant position in Communications. Keeping my fingers crossed I get it! I really need the benefits! It will be sad leaving the Leepa-Rattner Museum if I get the job. I have learned so much from the wonderful people working there and it will be a sad day when I leave.

So lets pray that I get the job and continue on a new adventure in my life!

Emily Alahna Sweeney

I had to share this pic of Emily and I. She is the first grandbaby in the family and I'm Aunt Kat! Mom, Jen, and I were in VA to see mom's first grandbaby and to help Sean and Gretchen out with her. She was born a premie and is now 3 months old and doing great! I reaaly didn't want to leave them, but i missed my bed, oh and my husband too! Now we are aback in hot as heck FL and I'm getting ready for the upcoming artshow season. Back to work I go! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Making Fanpulls!

Makin fanpulls, the only downside is that it can be a little hard on the hands! I use a pretty thick wire. That needs a lot of bending and shaping to make a cool design.

Art-o-Mat

OMG OMG OMG!
I was accepted into the Art-o-Mat Machine program! I am so excited I could pee myself! TMI? This weekend I will start making fan pulls to be distributed nation wide!

Yayayayayayaayayayayayay!

On a side note: Hopefully Tropical Storm Bonnie stays to the south of us, and I hope the oil in the gulf doesn't wreak to much havic with the storm coming through.

FIM Closing Down

Here is an article in the St. Pete Times by Lennie Bennet, who is a writer in the arts dept for the paper.

It talks about FIM closing down which is owned by the St. Petersburg College; and the college is going to "focus" more on The Leepa-Rattner Museum. Should be interesting to see how they will focus on us since they haven't really paid much attention to us lately.

Leepa-Rattner Museum

Today I am having oh so much fun photographing artwork in my photoroom @ The Leepa-Rattner Musuem of Art. I have many hats here: Photographer,Graphic Designer, Assistant Preparator, Assistant Registrar, and many other smaller hats.

Today we are accessioning many artworks to build up our inventory to becomeing an Accredited museum.

New car!

Woo hoo! Finally I got a new car, now I don't have to borrow my husbands truck for my artshows anymore! It is a Ford though and we are a Chevy family. David dosen't care for Fords but its better than the oil guzzling Saturn.

Art-o-Mat

Good morning! Yesterday I applied to this cool Art-o-Mat machine. What you do is you create several pieces of artwork that can fit in a small box about the size of a cigarette box. It is then distributed across the country and world in thses old fashion cigarette machines that have been converted to sell artists artwork. I have a friend who does it and has been quite successful at it. I will be selling (pending approval) Fan Pulls in my boxes, and I might change it up with other artworks depending on how successful the project is for me. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get approved with my artwork; I am so excited about starting a new venture into the artworld!

Expanding into the World of Art!

I have learned a lesson, if you delete one part of Google gmail you delete your blogger account too.

So I am back again with a better site and all sorts of new things to talk about!
I am moving up in the world of Fine Arts (sort of) and will be doing some new Fine Art shows and something called Art-o-Mat which will be another article in itself coming soon.
